Color-Grading with LUTs

CPA Sean 2015. 6. 8. 05:27

Color-grading is one of the most important aspect of videography.  Sometimes, I tend to love color-grading more than the actual shot.  I began color-grading with Magic Bullet Looks, and then about 7-8 months ago, I was introduced to a new workflow using Lightroom to grade frame by frame (takes too much time).  And recently, I began using LUTs.  I guess it's matter of finding the LUTs that you like, and I found some online.  (James Miller's DeLUTs)  After all the editing is done, you color-grade at the end, and watching the color-graded version of the final video is where the joy is.

This was a screen grab from a timelapse sequence that I shot 3 weeks ago.  I will upload the complete highlight as soon as it's done.

And below is a short video I shot with Sony A7s / Sony 24-70mm F4.0 at a friend's house last month.  Also graded with James Miller's DeLUTs.
