A Call from a Wedding Photographer

She asked me if I shoot videos for wedding, and asked me how much I charge.

Told her it depends on how much the clients want and what the budget is, and told her my price starts from $1,500.  And she was surprised that it was so high.  So I told her most non-Korean videographers have prices starting at $3,000 and it's only this Korean community the price is so low.

Honestly, I was surprised more that a wedding photographer would think that videographers would charge less than $1,500 when they are charging $3,000 + for "photography."  I'm not trying to belittle the works of photographers.  But ask any body who has done both photo and video professionally.  They end up shooting photos, because people pay more money for less work.

People need to know how to appreciate videography.  And they need to understand we want videos over photos.  There's a reason YouTube has gotten so big.
