Last Days of 20's

Literally, the last "DAYS" of my 20's... 106 days to be exact.

When you think about it, it's not so special because EVERYONE hits 30 at some point in life, and many people i know have already turned 30. So, it would seem that turning 30 doesn’t have much impact on people’s lives.  But when I imagine myself turning 30, it still feels surreal.

I'm still immature, dependent, and scared of the world. From a practical standpoint, I have yet to start a “real” career, nor do I know how to start one.  I’ve saved $0 over the years, but, accumulated a sizeable debt.

Age does not matter, that's what Americanized people would say.  And even un-Americanized people say that too, when they don't mean what they say.  But the reality is, of course age matters.  We’re given the same amount of time as others, yet we haven’t used our time wisely enough to secure a better job, become more mature, obtain a better education, or whatever else that we tend to associate with adulthood.  Either we haven’t tried hard enough while those around us did, or, we allowed opportunity after opportunity to pass us by.  When we’re 30, people will expect us to act and talk like we’re 30.  Making foolish mistakes or bad decisions will no longer be overlooked.

What I'm trying to say is I'm not ready to be 30, and I don't want to be 30.  But in 106 days, I will.
